Is there any specialization on Papal history? and what historians and works are best regarded in this area?

Is there a visible, noted, or any existing specialization in Papal history? And what works, research, and historians exist for this specialization?

I'm a John Julius Norwich fanboy, so I can't help but recommend his "The Popes: A History" (London: Vintage, 2012)

Norwich is primarily a historian of Byzantium who came to Italy through histories Sicily and Venice. Certainly, someone will have a different opinion and a different recommendation. But I think his work is a great place to get started.
