Reading about all the uproar regarding the flight of the 14-Bis in the Olympic's Opening Ceremony as a tribute to the man that we, Brazilians, call the "father of aviation", I came to ask myself: what History has to say about that?

From what I researched, it seems the Wright Brothers had nothing but a telegram/self claim to the titles of "inventors" of the airplanes. Only 2 years later after Dumont flew in Paris, they did the same - but with a few more difficulties.

Did I get this wrong? Please help!
