Forgive me if this is the wrong place for this, if you have a better sub please let me know. I'm learning about my blood line and have been reading up on Gaidhlig and it's usage. I've started watching news, TV series and listening to news to get an ear for the music of the language. I know the language was (is?) persecuted and I've heard references to Gaidhlig speakers being considered underclass. Can someone point me in the direction of information on this, I haven’t had much luck on my own. I'm interested in learning to read it (so I can better research) but I want to understand the historical weight of what it means to understand it and what true speakers went through. I'm to understand that many people think it's a dying language and I want to know why. Any help would be appreciated. Tapadh leibh!
