Literature in ancient Anatolia. Did the Lydians, Assyrians or others in the region leva ano works of literature?

There's Hammurabi's Code, there's Gilgamesh Epic and then Greek Literature.. Why is it that nothing of significance popped up in between, geographically or chronologically? Asia Minor was surely populated by polities that traded enough and were smart enough to pick up influences... I reckon.

There are Hittite Myths that exist(my girlfriend is doing her masters thesis on them) and may have interesting parallels with other regional mythologies. As to where one would find a translation or the original text I have no idea, I think they were clay tablets.
