Joseph Pérez, Histoire de l'Espagne (1997). 760 pages but very easy to read, stretching from Prehistory to the 20th century, and an attention to debunk myths about Spanish history common in foreign historiography. The part after the end of the civil war is however very lacking. The author's strength is the Habsburg period. There is a Spanish version, but I'm not sure if one in English.
