I was watching a documentary about Colombia and The Shining Path Maoist guerrillas that terrorized that country and I became interested in Communism. I'd like to read more about the communist philosophy that inspired these groups all over the world.
David Priestland's The Red Flag: A History of Communism and Archie Brown's The Rise and Fall of Communism are both very good overviews.
Animal farm is an amazing read, definitely in my too 5 favourites. It's probably not what you're asking for but I'd say definitely read it if you're interested in communism. I also recommend 1984 as another of my favourites, it's not specifically about communism but it's still very political and another extremely enjoyable novel that gets you thinking.
