Through history, and today in countries like Russia, North Korea and China, military parades with hundreds of marching soldiers, armor, and even jets flying overheads seem to be prideful public events that can be intimidating to watch. I've seen pictures of past military parades in US, but it seems like today they are more popular in small towns and not as big of a public spectacle, at least nationally.
