I lived in New Orleans and only saw a "vampire" once in my life. You know, stick on fangs, "goth" Victorian clothes, angst. For the most part, anything you see about vampires is portrayed as being in the Victorian ages or in the early 2000s .
During that time, was there ever actually a vampire witch hunt or any real fear of vampires?
Also, did eastern European countries really have such a dramatic fear of vampires as the History Channel likes to portray?
Are vampires real or are than any accounts of REAL vampires (not Vlad Dracula, we all know that story)
There were a number of very real "vampire panics" in nineteenth century New England, some linked to tuberculosis outbreaks: http://www.missedinhistory.com/blogs/missed-in-history-vampire-panic.htm
