No one has answered you yet, I read the book and wrote Prof. Weatherford with some questions I had, he was very nice and responded but that was a few years ago.

I believe the Netflix show Marco Polo took many aspects of this book, as well as the companion The Secret History of the Mongol Queens to base their show off of. I haven't researched it but recognized many aspects of these books in the show when it comes to Kublain Khan's court.
