Are there any works that study the Black Plague from a micro-history perspective? (ideally one that offers a contrasted portrait of both common men and aristocracy)?
It's not a microhistory, but The Black Death and the Transformation of the West by David Herlihy does a great (and succinct!) job at discussing the impact of the Black Death on peasant populations and aristocrats alike.
