I decided to ask this after reading this comment, As an educated American adult I had only ever heard about Churchill's leadership during WWII and the odd joke here and there about someone being ugly in the morning but he'll be sober etc...

Was he really a white supremacist? In many ways it seems like he was the last colonial British PM so it's not like that wouldn't make sense. Would love to get some reading recommendations too.
