You will almost certainly see action. In the north, you would escort Lend Lease convoys and patrol the coast for German aircraft and U-Boats. If you were unfortunate enough to get caught in the Leningrad blockade, you will operate coastal batteries, ferry commandos out on sabotage and recon missions, and possibly help maintain the Road of Life. On the Black Sea, you would take part in the defense or evacuation of Odessa and Sevastopol, or participate in one of the many amphibious landings. In the Far East, you would participate in the war against Japan, namely the Kuril Landing Operation. The Red Banner Navy didn't get to sit out the war.

Th Baltic Sea also saw ample action especially by small torpedo boats supporting land operations and harassing coastal traffic as well as antisubmarine warfare and mine laying.
