What is all the ways to prove a book of it's authenticity? I know carbon dating is one, but is there any other way then modern technology?
I am not a history buff what I am is interested in standard measurements in all fields. So I ask what is the go to standard of measurement to prove a text is authentic or a forgery?

I'm a little unclear on what you're asking about. Are you asking about determining if surviving manuscripts--that is, the actual material on which the texts are written--are actually ancient? Or are you asking how one would determine that a manuscript we have is of a text that was written in antiquity? The two are not the same--with very few exceptions the classical textual corpus is composed pretty much entirely of medieval manuscripts that were copied many centuries after the ancient texts were published.
I guess what I am trying ask is what is your process to prove a text, if someone comes to you and ask you to prove or disprove if a text was written by a particular group or person rather it is a copy or not?
