Since pretty much every squad had a machine gun, some soldiers had SMGs (MP-40, PPS, Tommy), semi-automatic rifles (Gewehr 43 and M1 Garand), why were some soldiers still issued bolt-action rifles like the K98k or the Moisin ? Also, how did soldiers armed with such single-shot weapons do against enemies armed with semi and full-auto rifles?
