Did they fly from the US homeland to Germany or did they fly them from the UK's homeland aka the "unsinkable aircraft carrier"?
Most bases were in the UK. Primarily used by the 8th Air Force. The 9th and 12th flew out of North Aftica. The 15th Air Force was based in Italy
