When the tsunami hit the coast of England in 1607, killing over 2000 and wiping out several towns, what sort of international response was there?

I've seen some contemporary accounts of the event from an English perspective, but I'm curious to know what (if anything) was thought of this abroad. I would also be open to hearing more about this event generally, as the wiki article on it is relatively sparse.

(Also, "tsunami" is just a best guess, at this point -- there seems to be evidence that it might instead have been a storm surge. I am no oceanographer, though!)

As an additional question, I would love to understand if this was a tsunami. I would think that a Tsunami capable of causing damage like this would have been felt as an earthquake somewhere locally and recorded.
