Does anyone have any more evidence or reading material around this or how exactly the snakes were used? The book just devotes that single sentence to it but I want more!
You should probably quote the book so people can see the context. I have, for example, Indian Buddhist text that mention nagas as guardians of Mahayana scrolls.. which are mythical and not necessarily factual. So you should probably provide more detail to get a decent answer.
