I recently came across a facebook post in which it was mentioned that Churchill created an artificial famine in the Bengal and Bihar region of the Indian subcontinent by diverting all the crops to Europe to work as buffer during WW2. How factually correct is this? If so, what else is he guilty of during his political career?
Are there such incidents like this after the 1900's that we may not be aware of?

There's a great historical text about the Bengal famine, called Churchill's secret war by Mukerjee. She explains the British role in the famine -essentially the colonists over-collected raw foodstuff to take to Britain, in order to ensure British diets did not change dramatically during the war, even though Indians did not have enough to feed themselves. I recommend it.
