Why did classic liberalism fail to develop in places like Eastern Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, yet arise in Britain/France?
Classical liberalism. Why didn't it take hold in those societies? Why did comprehensive systems which recognize modern conceptions of individual rights arise and persist in the West?
