From what I've read about the Hunnic Bow, it was made from several different materials. And not just 1 piece of wood. How was it glued together and how did it fair in wet, damp, and humid conditions?
The Hunnic Bow was The Huns most potent weapon. If I fight The Huns in the rain, they're done for. Right?
A Hunnic composite bow was constructed using a wood core backed with cattle horn and sinew glued on with hide glue. Rain would mostly affect the bowstring more than the actual bow itself. Composite bows don't fall apart when exposed to water unless they are submerged for an extended period of time (1-2 hours). As long as the bow is cared for, it should last years in wet, damp, or humid conditions.
