Edit: I had posted this on r/askhistory, but i seem to have received somewhat biased answers, and i was told to post here instead. I really wish to understand the history of slavery, specially since where i grew up (saudi arabia), slavery was never brought up, eventhough arabs seem to have a long history of slave trading.
