I would definitely say so. Many newly arrived immigrants in the US were Irish emigrants fleeing British persecution in search of a new life. Many of these Irish would participate in the War of 1812 and some in the Fenian raids

The Republican Party was particularly hawkish (see the Jefferson and Madison administration) and anti-British in their policy, this is apparent in their push for war against Britain over the impressment issue. Their anti-British tendencies is what pushed the adoption of the Embargo Act and eventually war. The Federalist party meanwhile was much more pro-British partly due to the northern States' close commercial links with the British Empire.

Suffice it to say, the early 1800s was characterized by a war of ideals between US republicanism and British loyalism over North America. The War of 1812 in a sense epitomizes this struggle. I highly recommend Alan Taylor's /The Civil War of 1812/ if you're interested on this subject
