Can anyone help identify this sword? I was told it was a gift from the Duke of Edinburgh in celebration of the coronation of King George V (UK) in 1911. I have no idea whether there's any truth to this though. (X-Post from /r/SWORDS)
The main problem with the story is that there wasn't a Duke of Edinburgh in 1911. The current Duke of Edinburgh wasn't born until 1921 and wasn't made Duke until 1947. The previous holder of the title (Prince Alfred) died in 1900.
