Hi guys, I'm writing an essay on the use of minorities (colonial troops of France, first nations of Canada and Czech soldiers of Austria foremost) and how fighting and living alongside people of different economic and ethnic status affected their relations before and after the war. I've been doing a lot of research, but I can't seem to come across too much, especially post-war. Do guys know anything about this, or are you able to point me in the right direction?
In keeping within the bounds of our rules, I can't give you an answer to your question but I can point you in the direction of some areas of interest. The history of Australian indigenous men who served during the First World War is a well researched topic with plenty of sources to examine. I would start off with the Australian War Memorial website. A historian of particular value in this area is Dr Noah Riseman who specialised in the military service of Australian indigenous soldiers.
