Like, were the blacksmiths driven to deafness ostracized, were there any inventions to help them, stuff like that. This is more of a showerthought than anything, I'm just curious.
Additionally were occupational hazards at all recognized and compensated in any way (for example blacksmiths muscles and skeleton being weakened by pounding steel with a hammer)?
