The Charge of the Light Brigade is one of the most famous poems ever written. Written by Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
Why would he leave out one of the most iconic lines in his own recording??

Note: this is not a historical perspective, but more a perfomance perspective.
He recorded the phrases, but the recording level drops just low enough at those points to sound like it. In particular, you can hear Tennyson utter the phrase at the end of stanza 3. It is likely, though I suspect cannot be confirmed, that Tennyson was reading the poem from print, and was dropping his head to refresh his memory just before the start of each stanza -- leading to a drop in the recording level as his mouth moved away from the microphone.
