Why wasn't America known about by going from Siberia to Alaska in 1792?

I think you meant "1492," but in any case, that question's been answered quite a few times here. The short of it is that Russia didn't have the territorial expanse it has today ─ Siberian expansion didn't really start until the 16th century ─ and as far as we can tell, Chinese, Korean or Japanese traders didn't have defined routes that far north.
