Luckily there is quite a bit of data on the topic, where people who were born and lived through the Nazi era were gauged on their perspectives in later studies, to understand this exact question. What comes to mind is how people during the era viewed Jews and Anti-antisemitism. Here is a graph which indicates committed antisemitism by birth year, which shows how antisemitism was apparent in previous generations, but was significantly exacerbated by the Nazi Regime for youth growing up during the war, but as decades pass, there is a significant change in attitudes into the 1980s.
