I was watching the CBC documentary Lion in Your Living Room the other night and they stated that DNA analysis combined with trade routes indicated that Vikings spread orange cats about Europe and the Mediterranean. I find a Nature article that refers to Viking cats but not orange ones. A cursory Internet search reveals a number of claims that Vikings liked orange cats but (of course) no sources. Captain Sunshine wants to know if there is any evidence apart from DNA that Vikings liked orange cats?
Did you try Google Scholar? If not, that might be a Thanksgiving research topic for me. Well, even if so, it might be...I just won't use Google Scholar...or perhaps will use different search terms. My Swedish is pretty limited, but I guess there's Google Translate.
