Just as a reminder, we do have a 20 year No Current Events rule here on /r/AskHistorians, which means that any responses must focus their discussion on events and trends prior to the end of 1996 (which can, of course, include both the 1992 and 1996 elections.) While it is of course acceptable to touch on demographic and political shifts since that point as part of a wider discussion, that discussion must be focused on developments prior to this threshold.
