I heard a story about a general that got hit by arrow right in the eye and he just pulled it out like a kebab and ate it in front of everyone. Any truth to this?
The general in question is Xiahou Dun. In the renowned novel Romance of Three Kingdoms, he was shot in the eye by enemy general Cao Bao. Dun cried "love of father and blood of mother should not be wasted", ate the eyeball then proceed to charge and kill Cao Bao.
However, this, like many events in RoTK, is likely to be fictional. The official history record (record by Jin court historian Chen Shou) only stated that he was shot in the eye, effectively earn him the nick name Blind Xiahou. Xiahou Dun latter became an important figure in the Han imperial court, which then abbdicated to Wei, then to Jin dynasty. If he did commit such an incredible feat, Chen Shou, as the court historian, would have included it in his record.
