History begins with the development of writing, which happened around 5,000 - 5,500 years ago. Anything older than that is not part of the historical record.
Cooking predates our species. Nobody knows exactly when it began, but there is isolated evidence that goes back as far as 1.9 million years, and much more extensive evidence showing it was commonplace by 400,000 years ago.
This would make it a question for /r/AskAnthropology if you would like to post there.
According to anthropological historians, cooking food would have happened very early in our history. The primary purpose of cooking food is for us to begin the digestion process outside of the body, thereby, increasing the nutritional yield from the food, while minimizing the calories expended to digest the food. In addition, cooking also kills many bacteria and parasites that would otherwise compromise humans. In fact, Richard Wranghan of Harvard University states that there is evidence that cooking food was common as far as 800,000 years ago. http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/06/invention-of-cooking-drove-evolution-of-the-human-species-new-book-argues/
