In the context of WW2, would the Atlantic theater be considered the same as the European and African theaters?

I am working on an assignment in which I have to identify turning points in the Pacific theater and Atlantic theater. However, I'm wondering if the Atlantic means specifically means naval battles on the Atlantic, or is a more general reference to the battles in Europe and Africa.

Your best bet here is going to be to ask your instructor. Very generally speaking, the war, from the US perspective is usually divided between Europe and the Pacific, with the Battle of the Atlantic and the North African Campaign subsumed under the European theater, as both areas were primarily important for the war effort against the Nazis. That being said, no matter what some Internet strangers tell you, I'm sure your instructor has an idea of what s/he wants, so it'd be best to ask him/her.
