Why is it that Islam developed a Jizya but Christianity never did? It would seem easier to make money off people for their faith rather than force them into believing yours and fomenting resentment.
Just to poke at the question a buit, isn't one of the goals of Christianity and Islam to convert people to the religion? Your question makes it sound like making money has a higher hierarchy than having followers.
