How accurate is battlefield 1?

Ok so I know it's not nessarly a historical game, but regarding the battles and the stories that are told, did they exist to the extent that the game said they did? Were war trains used offensively (I know large artillery were used on rails) were the guns accurately represented?

I am by no means useing entertainment to learn history, but I don't know enough about ww1 to know and it's interfering with my gameplay.

One of my biggest pet peeves about the game is that everything moves just too fast basically. ESPECIALLY the tanks.

For all her glory, Bess shouldn't be moving faster than a brisk walk really. Early tanks just had atrocious power to weight ratios and were not going anywhere fast.

For some good references lets turn to the famed Bovington Tank Museum, if its an AFV they are one of the premier places to turn to.

Here is their working replica of the Mark IV(the immediate predecessor of the Mark V which Black Bess is supposed to be). The replica was actually built for the Speilberg adaptation of War Horse.

As you can see its speed could best be described as "stately". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFbYTYt6Ok8

But wait there's more! Here is their replica of the ponderous A7V, along with it driving next to the War Horse Mark IV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztkKJUQB4rU

Certainly a treat to see them running next to each other, but a far cry from the much more mobile depictions we are given in game.
