From my knowledge, the Mark I tank first saw combat at the Battle of the Somme. Like the title states, how, if at all, did the Mark I tank affect the results of battles at the Somme after its introduction? Did it significantly shift the tide of battle to the Allies' advantage?
Admittedly I'm asking this because it's related to my IB Internal Assessment. Not trying to trick anybody into doing my homework for me, I swear.
Links to reputable, detailed sources about the tech specifications and real-world performance of the Mark I tank and any other possible tanks used at the Somme would be nice as well.
