I watched that Fallen documentary (fallen.io) awhile back and something I just realized was that since the vast majority of soldier deaths were men and there were so many, would that have a major effect on sex ratios in the major participants and/or regions or even the whole world?
I looked at a map of current sex ratio balance (here) and it looks like most male-leaning places are ones that in my limited knowledge of the topic weren't as hugely affected by the warfare as some of the female-leaning ones. However I am aware that there are literally dozens of other factors that could contribute to this, some I know of and much more I likely don't, like the fact that most of the male-leaning places are still very much male-dominated societies that don't treat women fairly. That said, I was looking around for historical graphs of human sex ratio over time and couldn't find any.
So basically, the title. What did the sex ratio look like after WW2, and did WW2 have a major effect?
