All i know is, if its from before 1935ish, its most likely in Ukraine. Which I believe to be the more likely scenerio. Just wondering if anybody can date and/or identify his uniform. The crossed rifles cap badge + tunic resemble that of a British School of Musketry privates uniform. The Suit to the right is English in cut as well - is it possible your grandfather was in Britain at any point?
Conversely, your grandfather is wearing leather high boots, which were not issued to British EMs (only officers) , while the belt does not appear to be British either
