Was there any direct trade between the Mayans and native North American civilisations?

I recently went to Chaco Canyon in the States and found out that there was Toucan feathers found at the site, what would have been that trade route from Guatemala?

No Toucans have been found at Chaco, only Scarlet Macaws. The macaws were likely bred in what's now Northern Mexico, around the site of Paquime (commonly known as Casas Grande). Archaeologists excavating Paquime were astonished to discover Scarlet Macaw skeletons from every stage of life buried within the ruins, indicating that people had been breeding them on-site. Buried alongside Scarlet Macaws at Paquime we often find a different species called the Military Macaw that was probably captured wild in Central Mexico and traded north. We've only found one Military Macaw north of the border, so Paquime does not appear to have traded them much farther. The Scarlets they bred were traded extensively though, to Chaco and even farther.

While AlotOfReading answered your question, I just wanted to make sure you saw our section Pre-Columbian Trade and Contact in the FAQ which has a few other topics on wider spread trade between Mesoamerica and places north of the Rio Grande.
