Hey All,
I'm writing a paper for my World History since 1945 course (mid-level undergraduate).
We have a small paper in which we make suggestions on current/future policy using historical examples.
One of the prompts asks us to write a hypothetical suggestion if Trump re-severs diplomatic ties with Cuba.
I'm having some trouble thinking of solid historical examples to support a suggestion.
I was thinking of maybe focusing on the disadvantage of severing diplomatic communication. Does anyone have any reading suggestions?
Thanks, J
Hey there. A great book you should check out is Backchannel to Cuba by LeoGrande and Kornbluh, about the recent opening up of relations between Cuba and the USA. You can also mine AP articles about new business interests between both countries.
None of those sources address this issue directly, but you could probably put together how/why reversing these new relationships midway through would be a problem.
Hello there. Your question seems to be related to school work, so we just want to remind you, and any potential respondents, that our rules DO permit people to ask for help with their homework, so long as they are seeking clarification or resources, rather than the answer itself. This policy is further explained in this META Thread.
Additionally, while our users may be able to help you out here, we hope that you also will take the time to check out our six-part series, "Finding and Understanding Sources", which should hopefully prove to be helpful for you as you continue in your research.
