What do you consider best works about Joan of Arc? I happened to be really exited about that topic recently and I want to read about her, but I don't want to waste my time on semi-novelized kind of books.
It's Jeanne d'Arc in French or Joan of Arc in English; Joan of d'Arc translates to 'Joan of of Arc'.
Helen Castor's Joan of Arc: A History just came out this year and has been well-received, though I haven't read it yet.
Régine Pernoud's Joan of Arc: Her Story remains, I think, the best popular work on the subject.
I really like Ann Astell's, Joan of Arc and Sacrificial Authorship. This is a book on various people who have interpreted St. Joan's story, but it's interesting nonetheless.
