I am not familiar with the book, but I tried googling the author to no avail (same as you.) I am vary because you want to see the historian writing it is a published academic, and I can't find evidence to verify that. Are you interested in the military history of the battle? If yes, from what perspective? I did some work on the battle of Stalingrad a while ago and know of a few good books on the matter. Hope this helps!
