Is there any historical evidence supporting the Turkish state's denial of the Armenian genocide? Was the Armenian genocide the result of violent Armenian political dissidents? Why were the Greeks and Assyrians also targeted?

by stupidgoddamnjerk

I have been watching some videos about the fall of Constantinople to the Mehmed II and made the mistake of browsing the comments, wherein I was surprised by the level of enmity which exists between between Turks and Armenians.

Here is (1), (2) of the conversation, wherein the following citations are made:

1909 NYT piece, subscription required, which allegedly (I can't read the piece) documents the Adana massacre, as well as death marches.

Nalbandian, Louise, Armenian Revolutionary Movement, University of California Press, 1963 [and] Papazian, K.S., Patriotism Perverted, Boston Baker Press, 1934, which appears to describe the existence of a violent Armenian separatist group which sparked the the genocide.

After reading the Wikipedia article on the Armenian Genocide, and it's deniers, I am left even more confused than when I started.

So, is there any historical evidence supporting the Turkish state's denial of the Armenian genocide? Was the Armenian genocide the result of violent Armenian political dissidents? Why were the Greeks and Assyrians also targeted?

Thank you once again for your time, consideration, and expertise.
