Can you help identify these original aerial photographs from post-WWII Philippines? (Album)

Digging around in the basement of a Detroit apartment building built in 1915, I found approximately forty images of a war-torn city, and other wartime scenes. I believe the photos may originate from among the original tenants, as the building was not occupied by residents after 1960. I posted the album to /r/whereisthis and the location was correctly identified as Manila around 1945. I am looking for any more information regarding the origins and story behind the photos. There are a few images that may help: soldiers in uniform, airplanes labeled "Guinea Short Lines", and more... I don't know the historic significance of these photos but I thought maybe someone in here could help tell the story, or point me in the direction of interested parties.

Hi, just as a note, AskHistorians' privacy policy doesn't permit identification or discussion of people who are/were not public figures. The rest of the photos are fair game, though! :)
