The aircraft looks like a BAC Jet Provost, a training aircraft used by the RAF from the 1950s. The airframe was originally developed as a piston-engined aircraft by Hunting Percival, as the Percival Provost. However, the increased prevalence of jet aircraft led to the need for a jet trainer. Percival developed the Jet Provost using much of the airframe of the original aircraft, mating it with the Armstrong Siddeley Viper jet engine. The aircraft was used by the RAF as a basic trainer, giving pilots their initial experience of flying.
