Would an albino black person have been seen as black or white to society?

For example back in early 1800s America, would an albino black man be given white rights his black family wouldn't have?

Well, it depends, as different societies have different conceptions of "race". I'm on mobile right now, so if someone could confirm this for me that would be great, but I recall that "race" in Brazilian culture is based on physical appearance. For instance, a brother and a sister can be two different "races". This is opposed to the historic view of race in America as being hereditary. So, in the case of the Brazilian concept of "race", an albino black person could still be considered "racially black" based on other physical features such as nose shape etc. However, this also means that they could be considered "sufficiently white" socially if they appeared as such.
