So for instance, "it has been pointed out that, from archaeological evidence, we would have no idea that at all that the Vandals had invaded North Africa." Once reconquered by Justinian the Vandals were then deported or their wives and daughters married off to Romans.
The Roman re-conquest was then followed a couple short centuries thereafter by the Arab/Islamic conquests which once again wiped the slate and I think you could argue remained the dominant cultural force until the arrival of European imperialism. Insofar as your question is whether we can "still" see such a Vandal influence, I can't recall ever coming across such a suggestion in regards to contemporary North Africa, though I'm generally more familiar with Egypt and to a certain extent Libya than I am with the rest of the Maghreb.
