Or rather, did David Lloyd George speak German? I'm watching a documentary right now where they're showing videos of Lloyd George's visit to the Berghof and it shows him and Hitler speaking freely and casually to each other (but of course there's no sound on the video so I can't tell what they're speaking). It doesn't seem there was a translator, their speech looks too free-flowing. So which one of them spoke the other's native tongue?
I searched for 'hitler english' in this subreddit and found this thread here and the top comment there says no, he did not.
No, he did not speak English. In a BBC interview, Deborah Cavendish, née Mitford, the dowager Duchess of Devonshire, described having tea with Hitler along with her mother and her sister Unity Mitford. Deborah Cavendish recalled that Unity did all the talking since she is the only one among her party that spoke German. Deborah and her mother did not manage to exchange words with Hitler due to the language barrier.

To give another perspective: There is a Spiegel article which claims that Hasselbach, one of the surgeons of Hitler said:
Nach dem Zeugnis des (Hitler-Arztes) Professor von Hasselbach ließ Hitler sich englische, amerikanische und französische Zeitschriften regelmäßig vorlegen: "Die zum Verständnis erforderlichen Sprachkenntnisse hatte er sich - von geringen französischen Schulkenntnissen abgesehen - im Laufe des Lebens allmählich angeeignet. Vorwiegend zu diesem Zweck ließ er sich vor dem Kriege häufig englische und französische Filme im Originaltext vorführen."
The essence being that Hitler read French, English and American magazines and watched French and English movies before the war. The knowledge of this languages (appart from a little French he learned in school) was acquired over the years.
Hasselbach was seen as a trustworthy witness by the Americans during the Nuremberg Trials.
The problem, of course, is that the Spiegel article (written in 1964) includes some details which have since debunked.
