This may be an unusual question, but how can you make history seem relevant to someone who is uninterested in history? I have a friend of mine ( I am in High School in the US) who is entirely uninterested in history at all. I tried explaining the butterfly effect, but that didn't seem to convince him. How can I make him understand that history is a powerful force in daily life and not some irrelevant thing. Thanks a lot!
My usual method is by tying it to something your victim friend is already interested in. Interested in cars? Maybe mention how the first auto-mobiles were steam powered... or how electric cars are nothing new, the first real battery-powered car being built in 1888.
That's just an example, but the same principle applies to just about anything. Video games, movies, music, all have rich histories to tie into the latest hot film.
You have to be subtle; shoving history in the face of someone who has no current interest in it will just make it easier for them to shun. Good luck!
