A question about nazi uniforms

by Bromcbromanheimer

So I was watching a documentary and saw this man http://m.imgur.com/GUFm19z he has some type of backwards cap that I've NEVER seen before and I watch a ton of ww2 stuff. Can of you historians identify it for me. I've been looking around and it appears to be a backwards basic tank cap but people didn't wear hats backward back then?

It seems he's turned it backwards to keep it from blowing off while he's driving. Turning a cap backwards is said to originate in baseball when catchers started wearing face masks. It's completely reasonable to think people did it back then, just that it was done for practical reasons rather than style like today.

From what I can see, it's just an "M43" feldmutze worn backward.
